Glasses4Less Installs Currency Converter In On-Line Store

Glasses4Less now has a currency converter installed on all product pages. Often we are contacted by our international customers requesting prices in their own currency and this was causing some problems. Now prices are shown for each product in their selected currency, alongside our prices in GBP, hopefully strengthening customer confidence.

High Quality, Luxury Spectacle Chains ~ 20 New Lines Just Added!

In time for the Christmas season, Glasses4Less has increased its stock range of spectacle chains with beautiful high quality, luxury spectacle chains by Hilco. Most of these chains are limited edition and we expect styles to change each season. The great thing about the Hilco chains is that they can also be worn as a necklace. Leaving the rubber loops in place on your glasses, simply unclip the chain from the loops, put your spectacles away in their case and wear the necklace!

Allergy Sensitivity: All chains are NICKEL FREE!

Another great idea from Hilco!

Ladies Classics Just Added

Due to popular demand Glasses4Less has just added a Ladies Classics frame section to the website. Currently there are 15 new frames in this section with more lines to follow shortly. The current trend of fashion frames in bold or dark colours with thick heavy sides doesn’t suit everybody and we have noticed in recent months a steady rise in requests from ladies for more traditional, classic styles (without rhinestones!).  This is the first of a number of changes to the site planned over the next few weeks so watch this space for further developments.

New Optrex ActiMist ~ As seen on TV

“Soothing dry, irritated eyes is now so easy…
…You can do it with your eyes closed!
Do you struggle applying drops? Would you prefer not to have to touch your eye? NEW Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray is an ideal alternative!

The revolutionary new format in the Optrex range, Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray is applied to CLOSED EYELIDS to repair and restore dry, irritated eyes. The easy to use spray provides clinically proven relief and is even suitable to be applied to closed eyelids to repair the tear film and restore dry, irritated eyes.

We’re all susceptible to dry, irritated feeling eyes. One of the main causes is our modern lifestyles – staring at a computer screen, driving long distances, air conditioning and central heating are all culprits. Contact lens wearers and older people (particularly women) are also prone.”

These are the advertising claims made by Optrex Eyecare so we thought we would check out this new product over the coming weeks and post some reviews. I’m not so sure that the spray idea is new and revolutionary, except to Optrex of course, as we first saw this concept used with a product called Clarymist if I’m not mistaken. We weren’t that keen on Clarymist, my wife found it slightly irritating and felt it did very little for her dry eye condition.

Optrex has a good track record and is pretty much a household name, right up there with TCP and Germolene. There can’t be many people out there who haven’t used the little blue eye bath full of Optrex Eye Wash at some time in there life! Optrex ActiMist is not cheap , priced at £14.33 for a 15ml bottle, however thinking back I loved the way my eyes felt after using Optrex Eye Wash and the only thing that stopped me making it part of my regular routine was the ‘faffing’ around with the eye bath, solution running down your cheek and trying to open my eye in the solution. For some complaints only an Optrex Eye Wash will do, but if I can get that refreshing feeling in a simple, no fuss spray that would be great.

We will try out some samples and report back. Watch this space!

Cheers

Transitions VI Lenses have arrived

UV and eye protection concerns everyone.

Our sight is precious, without good vision we can’t live comfortably and happily, without the benefit of glare protection life can be tiring and stressful. Transitions VI lenses provide healthy sight in every light.

Did you know?

That in the last 10 years, the earth has lost 12% of its ozone layer! This means that our skin and eyes are at a greater threat of damage from UVA and UVB rays than ever before.

For every percent of ozone lost, scientists register a corresponding increase in cancer of 4% and cataracts of 0.8%. (source: World Health Organisation)

People just aren’t aware of the harmful effects that UV can have on their eyes. While prolonged or excessive sun bathing is associated with skin cancer it is not often linked to ocular lesions which is why the public need to be made aware of these facts. It’s not just associated with hot sunny days and foreign holidays in warmer climates, even in the UK people can be exposed to UV rays, even on cloudy days!

The very latest Transitions VI lenses react quickly to the changing light conditions and protect eyes from the damaging effects of Ultra Violet rays, just like sunblock protects your skin.  Transitions lenses help preserve eye health as they block 100% of harmful UV rays
