Based in the beautiful Islands of Orkney, we have been serving the local community with low cost, quality spectacles since 2002 from our retail outlet on the island of Burray. Orkney is made up of around 70 islands and it was by way of trying to better serve customers living in remote island communities that first gave us the idea to create this website.

As our name would suggest we are an optical laboratory and offer quality prescription frames and lenses, as well as a wide range of optical goods and accessories, direct to the public at amazingly low prices!

We are registered with the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) as a supplier of class I medical devices. Here at our optical laboratory, we accurately interpret your prescription, grind your lenses, hand finish them and fit them to the frames of your choice. All of our prescription work conforms to British Standard 2738 All frames are stamped with the CE mark of quality in accordance with European Directives.
